Unemployed ……. August 12, 2009

Filed under: Blog — Shannon @ 7:49 am

Well, it’s been 2 months and still no job. I just want a good part time job. It has made me feel like crap and a major disappointment. Even when I got fired from Starbucks, I was only unemployed for 1 month.

Good times to come!!!! March 3, 2009

My surgery consult is on the 10th. I’m going to Dr. Bruner, who I’ve only heard good things about. I am a little stressed and can’t wait until this is all done and over with. I’ve been taking my thyroid meds for about 3 weeks now and haven’t noticed anything really different other than feeling like crap. Hopefully that’s not because of the meds. Thank god for Randy! He is truly my better half!

I am excited about this weekend! Randy and I are going down to Columbus Friday night to spend time with the Columsky kids! Randy, Amy, Eric and I have rented a cabin in the Hocking Hills area for some needed R & R! I don’t think I’ll move from the hot tub too much!!!! Should be a good time!

I’ll post again when I get some news from the doctor.

And the winner is……….. February 13, 2009

Today I got my results back from many blood tests and a pelvic ultrasound. I was thinking that it was going to be polycystic ovarian syndrome. Nope. I have hypothyroidism along with something else. So I have to take pills now to help with my thyroid and I have to go see another doctor about what they found on my ultrasound. Hopefully I’ll know more soon.

Getting back to this……. February 8, 2009

Today I will get back to blogging. It’s been awhile since I’ve been on here. I wish I could say that a lot has changed, but really it hasn’t.

I still like my hair, and Heidi’s! lol. I need to work out more. I need to eat breakfast and stop with pop altogether. Yes, I say pop. Coke is a brand and I think soda is a southern thing. I still make up shit to argue about with Randy, which sucks, but I am working on it.

On Friday the 13th of all days I find out if I can have kids. Which I’m sure will bother me either way it goes. Which I know doesn’t really make sense. Thank god for Randy. He keeps me sane and I’m the luckiest person in the world to have him.

I’ve had the hardest time picking out a new pair of glasses. I know insurance will pay for some of it, but it’s still expensive and I still really haven’t found a pair that screams me yet. So the search continues…….

I have decided that every weekend I will blog about something that is happening in my life for that week. So I will stick to that and to working out atleast 3 times a week!

  See you next week.

Been awhile….. October 28, 2008

Ahhh the married life! It’s been awhile since I’ve blogged. Married life is awesome! Work is going good as well. I’ve moved from a PRN (as needed) employee to part-time employee ( I usually work about 34 hours a week), which is good for all my benefits that I can get now.

Randy and I recently got a membership to the local Y. I really need to get off my butt and go more. I have found that one of my favorite things is to play racquetball. I grew up playing tennis so it’s not too far off from my true love sport! Although 3 man racquetball is something else. We tried that with Bryan and it gets pretty confusing and dangerous, but it’s a lot of fun.

We went to a clambake last Saturday at my co-worker Lynne’s house and all I have to say is Yum! We had clams, mussels, twice baked potatoes and sweet potatoes and porterhouse steaks! Not to mention smores! They have to be one of my favorite desserts. Although on a sad note…. I had another co-worker look for some Redbach beer for us at the Bier Market in Cleveland and no luck! Apparently the beer maker Rodenbach is out of business. This breaks my heart.

I am excited about this Saturday. Randy and I are taking my Dad out for his birthday and it’s going to be spectacular! I don’t want to say where we are going yet, just in case he sees this! But it will be fun!

As for Christmas, we are talking about taking a trip to Chicago for our christmas present to each other. I’ve never been to Chicago even when I had my Navy bootcamp close to it. We would probably take it Dec 26th to the 29th. I’m sure we’ll know more later.

I will actually try to make this a more regular blog and talk about what is really on my mind. Hope all is well with everyone.

SHam! July 30, 2008

I’ve decided since I’ll be changing my name  to Shannon Hammons, it’ll be crazy long for my signature. Hence the SHam! It’ll be my lazy signature!

It’s only 10 days till the big day! I’m definitely looking forward to it and to my kick ass bridal shower! All I know is that it’ll be at Hermes Winery aka Sandhill Winery. My friends/bridesmaids are awesome!

Randy and I have decided to take a short honeymoon to Ohio wine country. I am looking forward to going to Ferrante’s Winery. I’ve been there and a couple others before, but this one takes the cake. Ferrante’s has great food and great wine, not to mention the beautiful surroundings.

I still can’t believe that we’re getting married next week. Wow.

I just have to say one more thing. For Randy’s bachelor party, he and the guys went to Goodwill and all got Cosby sweaters! They then went to JC Penney and got their photos taken. I don’t think that I have laughed as hard as I have in a long time looking at these photos. They are amazing!

These are only a couple of them. Truly Priceless!

Patriotic Day Off July 4, 2008

Filed under: Blog — Shannon @ 7:05 am

Ah the Forth of July. I’m hoping it won’t rain today so we can see some fireworks! No matter what, it’s always nice having a day off with Randy. Well I guess I’ll talk about whats been going on the past couple of days.

Monday really sucked. I didn’t want to go anywhere.

Tuesday was Randy’s actual birthday, so went went out to Damon’s and then to Daly’s.

Wednesday we went and saw Hancock with Amy, Eric and Bryan. Not too bad for what it was.

Yesterday we went out to dinner with Bryan for mexican, which seems to be a weekly thing now, and then off for the lovely search of what to put in the wedding favor bags.

As for more news about the Wedding…… we now have 2 sites where we are registered, CB2 and Target. Also Randy is making a little wedding home page with info and directions on it at So go check it out and tell us what you think.

Back to the favors for me!

Numero Dos! June 29, 2008

Friday was awesome! Randy’s surprise party was a hit! I was very excited that all of us could pull it off. So a very big thank you to The Pohos and the amazing breakdancer Emma, The Brownes-Thank you so much for letting me have it at your place, Bryan, Sarah and Randy’s parents. Ater the party we went to see the new movie Wanted. It was good for what is was.

Yesterday was any normal Saturday. I worked until 12:30 and then we went out to lunch. We had our softball games, which we lost. Again. I was so tired after the game. We went to Cameo for a late pizza and then I came home and went to bed.

Today we’re going to Trader Joe’s at Crocker Park to buy a couple cases of 3-buck Chuck for the wedding. I’m pretty excited to go.

Brand new and all….. June 26, 2008

Well, I figured for my first blog I would give you my 10 random facts since I’ve been tagged by Eric! Basically I have to make a list of 10 random/ weird things that no one or not many people know about me. At the end, I have to tag 6 people who I think should do this lovely task. Thank you Eric!

  1. I love to read other peoples blogs! I know that Joey and Jen have had the same post up for awhile.
  2. I love sushi, way too much. I could eat it everyday.
  3. I used to be in the Navy and loved my Job.  I want to kick myself almost everyday for getting out.
  4. Because of #3, I feel like a failure and wonder if and when I’ll ever feel like I accomplished something.
  5. After 28 years of being alive, I’ve finally figured out that I may be allergic to dairy.
  6. One of the only places that I’ve felt at home was Japan.
  7. I may seem like I don’t care or that I’m mean, but truth is that I’m very sensitive and I usually cry at commercials.
  8. I have the worst stomach. It sucks.
  9. Randy is my rock. He’s the glue in our relationship.
  10. I have a hard time trusting people. I usually get burned from friends/ family.

I should list 6 people to do this, but I won’t. My list is depressing enough.
